Greetings Basilers! We've made some great headway with our new Basil Search. As the new search is in beta, we are opening up the discussion to get feedback. The new Basil Search is built for both basic use and more advanced use. Read below for more info. Basic - 101 In most situations you just want to find out what items a monster drops or what auctions there are for a specific item. For these searches, Basil Search is your new BFF (Basil Friend Forever)! • By default, 'Auction' is selected, type in 'Maple' to see a list of Maple items in your server. Keep typing to find a specific item. Notice the item stats on the right! • Select 'Monster' above the search bar and type in 'Mushmom', click the link. • Select 'Item' and type in 'Advanced', choose one. • Select 'Listing' and type Leech. The list will show leech listings in your server. • Select 'Skill' and type 'Maple Warrior', check it out. The same works for listings, screens, videos, etc. A special note about auctions -- either you are looking for specific stats or a specific item. If it's an item you're after, select 'Item' from the search bar and type in the name of the item to see specific auctions for that item. Advanced Searching - 202 Basil Search has some simple yet powerful search options built in. The syntax closely resembles that of other search engines, for example using - to exclude a word or quotes to add strictness. Read below for the rest. • Find results that contain at least one of the words: crystal ilbi • Find results that contain the word crystal , but rank results more highly if it they also contain ilbi : +crystal ilbi • Find results that contain the word crystal but not ilbi : +crystal -ilbi • Find results that contain the exact phrase crystal ilbi : "crystal ilbi Feedback Tell us what you think! Please... :D Note During beta the search database will not be updated regularly. So if you made an auction, thread, listing, etc and it's not showing then it's because the database hasn't been updated. Once the search leaves beta the database will be updated more regularly. Cool, but can you make it so that if you search up a username, it'll bring up the user? Cause I've been trying to find some friends on basil, and I'd like it if I could use the search bar for that o.o lol

In my opinion the search engine isn't very good at finding what you need... for example i'm tryng to find lumancer's guide to what's next in GMS. i search the whole thread title EXCEPT for the first word (lumancer's) and it comes up with every result BUT what i'm looking for. whereas google found what im looking for as a top result and i searched something more vague. needs work

good idea, but i HATE the location. omg hate it hate it hate it. is there a way we can have the option to move it around? maybe have it as a side console?
