Do Cygnus characters need book for 4th job skills?

yeah i was wondering, do we need the books for our 4th job skills?

Nope, we just do a quest at lvl 100 and another one at 110, getting a 4th job skill in each of them. Afterwards, you can add SP and max them like any other skill.

NinjerStaerz : They don't exist O.o Was this a joke or something? No, he means like finding those special books (literally books) from certain monsters, which are the pre-requisites to starting certain quests which enable you to get certain skills. Basically, books that get you 4th job skills.

Nightwalker example Level 0-10: Noblesse Level 10-30: NightWalker (1st Job) Level 30-70: NightWalker (2nd Job) Level 70-120: NightWalker (3rd Job) Max level is 120. So you when you get to level 70 and get your third job advancement. That is the final job advancement you will get. There will be no 4th job advancement at level 120. It is the max level for a Knights of Cygnus. However, at level 100 and at level 110, you will get a quest, when completed you will unlock a skill. In the Nightwalker case: At Level 70 skills available are: Shadow Partner, Shadow Web, Avenger, Alchemist and Poison Bomb. At Level 100 a light bulb will appear on your head and it will give you a quest. When that quest is completed you will unlock the skill Triple Throw with 0 SP added to it. (The reward for the quest is a book) At Level 110 a light bulb will appear on your head and it will give you a quest. When that quest is completed you will unlock the skill Venomous Star with 0 SP added to it.(The reward for the quest is a book) Most people like to save their SP at level 95 for nightwalkers. So when at level 100 when they unlock Triple Throw they can max it out straight away. Same goes with Venomous Star. Does it make sense now?

But can Cygnus characters use the Mastery books? Can Blaze Wizards use the Ifrit 20 or Meteor Shower 20 or the Dawn Warrior use Brandish 20? and such books? Technically the 4th jobs don't 'need' mastery books either.

you get the skill books from your main NPC. theres no point using the books. you can max them out as soon as you get them

You just get the skill in your skill window.

The fact that NWs get venomous star is kinda stupid IMO... they shoulda gotten like a 30% fake. Cause they kinda already have a poison attack and venom is lame cause unlike their poison grenade, you have to be able to hit the enemy to inflict poison. This would be ok if it worked on bosses, but it doesnt :S

Technically the 4th jobs don't 'need' mastery books either. Blaze Wizard Ifrit/Meteor isn't the same as an F/P archmages, so no. They already have a max level set for them.
