Note: Please don't post if you didn't read the whole thing. Also, I will completely ignore all useless and/or degrading comments (just like my mom ignores me). Thank you. I love my parents for only a few things: for taking care of me and for letting me stay in their house. Everything else about them I feel no love. I HATE them. I feel like I was born to be different from them. Their mindset and the way they think is wrong to me. All they do is tell me to go study while they watch TV all day. They're too "busy" to even spend a little time with me and my little brother. Just watching some stupid chinese movie series hours every day. Whenever I try to take a break from my studies (even in the summer) for just fifteen minutes on the computer, my dad tells me that I'm "addicted" to the computer, yet he once watched over five hours of TV without stopping (last Sunday). He makes my house seem like a prison. Pretty much everything in my life: What I do, what I wear, what I look like, and my social life is dictated by him, and he throws fits of rage whenever I don't follow his regieme. As soon as I get out of high school I swear I will sever ties with him FOREVER and make sure that I will never see his face again. My mom is almost as bad. She watches more TV than my dad, and always ignores me. Whenever I try to ask her a question or something, she is unwilling to break her concentration with the TV, and pretends that I don't exist. At other times when she actually notices my prescence, I become the perpetrator for all the troubles that happen in the house. My friends once left empty water bottles on my lawn. My mom and my dad said it was all my fault because I couldn't prevent them from littering, EVEN IF I TOLD THEM NOT TO PUT THEM ON THE F***ING LAWN IN THE FIRST PLACE. If I ever become a parent one day, I hope to not be like my mom or my dad. . . I Know I may sound like a dishonorable child but I just can't stand the way they are treating me. I want to live my life knowing that my sole existance isn't to be their China Doll. I want to live my life knowing that they will let me grow and be independent, not some 8 year old that they think me to be. I want to live my life knowing that I can grow up to be MYSELF, NOT WHAT THEY WANT ME TO BE. I want to live knowing that my parents aren't using me to achieve their dream life through me.

Ever heard of the experimental child attitude? It's when parents have did a trial and error tactic for raising the first born. Then the second born they pretty much do what they haven't done for the first born. Will I be far off if I say you're the one who cares more about his grades and your brother is sorta the clown in the family? ILikePiezzzzz : The ironic part is that my parents adore and spoil my little brother, when he's doing so much worse than me in school and pretty much everything else. Here is their reaction when I got a B- in summer enrichment (I've never taken chem in my life before so... yeah): "WE PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR YOU AND YOU ONLY GETTA B? YOU MOST STUPIDEST KID!" Here is their reaction when my brother failed his math honors entrance exam FOR THE SECOND TIME: "It not your fault. Maybe next year."

lol. Some friends. You got spazzed at 'cause they couldn't bother to recycle/throw it out. Your life seems pretty harsh.. Couldn't you just stay outside more often though?

alteast your parents feed u buy u clothes my parnets feed me but half of the time its expired food i got hamy downs all my lfie and no toys excpet for hamy downs of hamy down (hand me downs) which would lead them to breakin the second i got them yeah the tv thing SUCK IT UP so they have no lives >.> good for them. I HAVE NO TV. ur life doesnt seem half as bad as mine. that jus a small sum of wat they do. im azn too

i admire the fact that you didnt play race into this normally when you see an asian kid on basil ranting about his/her parents, the first thing you see them write is how they're asian and w/e. by not doing that makes you one of the more sensible person on basil

Welcome to the life of every teenager... You aren't the only kid in the world that has problems and hates their parents. You may just be ranting to relieve some stress, which is perfectly fine, but don't think you are the only one who has to deal with parents. You sound around the age of 15 or 16, I suggest you declare your independence to them. Stand up for yourself and give your parents valid arguments about why you should be treated like an adult. Also think about what you are going to say when you declare your independence. Take your time, take a week or so and write down all the arguments you are going to give your parents then imagine what their responses will be, then make a counterargument that they can not disagree with. If all else fails deal with life until you are 18 and move out.

Comparing your painful emotions to a poor starving kid in some nameless third-world country never helped you feel better. Not saying anything against you and your situation, if it makes you feel bad, I'm sorry, but no, not so productive.

kevindou : Don't hate them for the asian tv thing, all asian parents do that. Take advantage of them watching tv, and go play maple. It's the easiest way to not get lectured ;] Yeah, you basically have like, 2 hours of free time.

Well, honestly... that isn't that bad. My family is the same, but a lot worse. I live in a house with cousins, an aunt and an uncle. They tell me I'm worthless and ignore me every single moment. My aunt throws things at me if I win an argument. I get yelled at for not doing something.. while I'm doing that something. I get beat but I'm strong enough to fight back/defend myself now.. unlike when I was little.. They all wish I wasn't born. ( minus my parents... sometimes..) Right now I wish I wasn't either. I've been kicked out of the house sooooo many times it's not even funny. I don't mind my parents though. I'm used to them.
