The adventurer cape seems fairly interesting, but I most likely don't have enough mesos anyways so I probably shouldn't bother.

You shouldn't quit forever =( When I get bored of a character I just make a new one and leave the old one fully equipped until I feel like playing them again. That way I always can use them as soon as I want to. I think this is mostly because I hate looking for stuff in FM though.
