Why does everyone think that Indians are some kind of sub-Asian or not a real Asian at all? It's annoying me.

They're Asian, but not East Asian or Southeast Asian, which most people think of immediately when they hear Asian. Also, they have dark skin and wavy hair, so they don't really match the fair skinned straight hair of the stereotypical "Asian" in most people's minds.

The term Asian is used to refer to Oriental Asians. I don't know why this is a recurring thread.

India is not on the same tectonic plate as the rest of Asia. The country is on the Indo-Australian plate instead of the Eurasian plate.

Omg same here It annoys me so much. I tell them I'm from Bangladesh. Later I have to hear "oh yah she is kinda asian" Um excuse me? India, Bangladesh IS IN ASIA MORONS Go back n take more Geography lessons ps. We do consider ourselves Asian. Ever heard of the term South Asian?
