can maplestory still run on a closed laptop

If I shut my laptop, will mapletory close or will it still go? will I be disconnected? I don't want to try because I don't want to lose my fm spot

What you CAN DO, however, is just leave your computer, DONT close it, just leave it up, and it will stay connected.

Yeah, it can run w/ a closed top. Just change the setting so its doesn't shutdown, standby, hibernate.

This is going off by memory for Vista, and the fact I don't used a laptop very much. You need to go into the Power Management or whatever of the laptop (just click the power thingie on your Task Bar), go to advance power settings, and one of the options is what you want to do if the laptop lid is close: Change it to "Nothing". xD Did I got it right? -too lazy to go to my Mom's place and check- lol

There's also a way for you to run maplestory when being in sleeping-mode.

Do this....Cause i close my laptop and its fine (i just wake up and the keyboard is hot as the sun) But right click your desktop and somewhere it should say "Power saver" click it and it should give an option on what happens when you close the lid

SkippyChris : yeah i just went to do that before but it is there any way to make it sound like its off Well...you could shut off your fans, but (no offense) you don't sound tech literate enough that I'd recommend trying that, and you'd run the risk of damaging your computer in ways that would make running Maple the least of your problems.

standby/shutdown/hibernate makes the computer "sound likes its off" but that will disconnect you from maplestory, some laptops with good specs don't need the fan running all the time even most old laptops do this. an new laptop should be able to temporary turn off the fan for a while. you might have to cahnge some setting for this,(im not good with windows) try googling it. hopefully this helps
