Is there a skill that is used instead of Energy Blast in 3rd job? Or do you keep using it in 3rd?

Shark Wave hits 6 monsters for 270% each while Energy Blast will hit 3 monsters for 360% each. Basically, for mobs of 3 or less Energy Blast would win and any more than 3 would make Shark Wave more usable. It's still usable in 3rd Job because you have to charge up anyway to use Energy Drain.

You keep using it in 3rd. You can use Energy Blast for close up smaller mobs and Sharks for separated larger mobs.

Honestly, I don't think its that great at all. Heck, I'm even leaving Blast at 11. See, I WANT to use Sharks sooner, as I think it is so much cooler and fun than Blast. If Blast was more powerful, it would be annoying having to not use Sharks to be more "efficient" and to justify getting Blast. As soon as you get Barrage, any use of Blast AT ALL instantly dissapears. Until level 100, none of the training spots really require you to get close to the monsters, and I can make do without it. In fact, Corking over wastes time, so it might actually be just as efficient to use Sharks on a mob of 3. Also, Blast can only be used about 2/3s of the time, so even if I suffer some small decrease in DPS on some maps, it is not for the whole time at all. When the Energy is fully charged, it seems to me that Drain would be a much better alternative to Blast anyways. In exchange for Blast I am maxing out Booster in 2nd job, allowing me to max out DRAIN 3 levels faster than someone who follows the regular build. Blast isn't even really needed in 2nd job, past level 11. Since I am at MP3 until level 70, and I am decently strong (a little above average, I believe), I can ALWAYS 1 shot either the Selkies or the Slimys with 11 Blast. Raising it couldn't help me hit more monsters or to kill those monsters in less hits, so it is practically useless. It might be of some use at WRs, though there are usually mobs of 6 or so, so SSK wouldn't be much worse. I will be a little less efficient at Raiders until level 77, where I get 21 Sharkwave, and when on mobs of 4+, Blast becomes virtually obsolete. So to be honest, I would advocate getting Blast to 11, as it definately helps, and then if your Cork-Blast combo 1-shots at MP3 the whole time, to leave it and get Booster. This allows you to have more time for Booster, to use Sharks faster, and to get Drain and Transform faster. A less relevant point is that you will also be able to max out Sprite, but most people don't care about it (I do).

Sharkwave completly outdoes energy blast, not onyl does it hit more, but it has greater range and doesnt need to be fully charged to be used, is tarted using shark as soon as i leveld to 70 simply cuase of the range

Meh. EB costs 0 Mana, I don't use it for mobbing much, I use it in place of straight/flash fist when I'm charged & getting close has that PG effect.

I never use either unless I am jumping over a monster, and feel like killing them on the way. Basically, like Jump-Attacking an almost dead monster. However, FF is much better for this, as the monster is almost dead anyways, and it is faster and easier to jump-Attack with.

Well, thanks. =) I recommend getting 14 Booster to sync with Lightning, and then finishing up Booster at the very end of 2nd job. =) However, do NOT completely forego Blast. 11 Blast is quite useful at MP3 especially. more is just useless since you'll be 1HKOing anyways with 11. Glad I've been of help. =D

Energy Blast is 360% at max. Sharks is a completely crappy 125% at level 1 and only hits 4 monsters. I disagree. I don't see the point in leaving out Energy Blast in 2nd job either when you could easily leave out Knuckle Booster or even Corkscrew.

Still, still, still. 0 mana. SPAMSPAMSPAM. Seriously, 360% dmg FOR FREE! You're a wasteful person if you don't take advantage of it. OH WAIT. We ALL forgot the 20 w.attack boost from Energy Charge. 360% AND 20 w.attack = omgwtfhax! OH WAIT. Add on Crit fist. Now change your pants, and have a nice day.

All but your first point are void, and the fact that it is free doesn't matter too much. It is always better to use the better skill. Energy Charge gets maxed anyways, so you get the Stance, Touch Damage, Attack, etc... boosts anyways. Criticals also work with Sharkwave and every other skill; in fact, they work BETTER with Sharkwave, as there are more attacks (More monsters are hit), and the base percent of Sharkwave is lower. Saying 360% sounds awesome, but then you have to think about when you need that. Since it is easy to 1HKO at MP3 with 11 Blast, more won't help at all. It might help a tad at WRs, but it is mobby enough for SSK to work fine, and by level 77, Sharkwave will be better in terms of mobbing. Adding Crits makes Sharks even better, more so than Blast. Plus there is the amazing range and the coolness factor. Leaving out Blast is better than Cork or Booster, as Booster is needed in 3rd job, and to max it out later, you get Drain and Transform 3 levels later than someone who uses my build.Corkscrew is very important in terms of mobility, though it is possible to leave IT at 11, and max out Blast. However, Cork never gets replaced, and Blast does so quickly and so completely. Another point in my build's favour is that with this build it is possible to max out Sprite at the end of 3rd job. Granted, this is just for fun, but is still a plus.
