what do mages need ?

well i quit my warrior and im selling my: 18 str robe 10 att wg 99/7 daiwa sword and SoKing my zhelm to my cleric and i have no idea what mages need like.. do they need magic att gloves? my friends told me 8 att 9 int is like 270m.. i currently have 3/7 luk pac and i have about 300m funded,probably more :S but iunno and my friend is going to give me 40k nx what should i buy ? cuz i dont kno much about mages i was always a warrior, i am going normal luk so yea.. discuss

sigh cleric is boring til 3rd job. but since I can't stop you. they need m.atk yes. but really costly. just get m.atk. 5 earrings. cheap. just 100% scroll ir from he scroll seller in Ellinia. get a clean 2 int ywg. and some int stuff. you need more int than luk

well.. normal luk will suck in terms of damage, just saying. Mm.. they need a decently scrolled int overall, anywhere from lv 13-78 since you're going reg luk, but it would be better to buy a good one later, so it has more base stats. mm.. a decent scrolled m.atk glove, or just a clean one with about 3 int on it... some shoes, with 2-3 base int on them. a matk shield, it's not a necessity. an int bandana til 50, or a brown bamboo for the 3 luk

To get good damage, you have to pay for every little bit, down to the last point of that one measly point of magic attack on your staff, and getting 20 int instead of 19 int on your overall. To get decent damage, you have to buy nicely scrolled items (10+ int overall, 12 int staff). To get "normal" damage, you have to have over-average equipment and a scrolled staff. To get bad damage, just wear appropriate level equipment. Yeah.

Int since without int you'd have sucky damage. luk since without it you'd have no accuracy and can't wear weapons. staffs or wands to attack. [This is mean't to sound gay]

Ok when it comes to attack, the mage class is totally different from others. As a warrior/thief/archer, when you upgrade your glove from 6 attk to 10 attk you notice that your damage is somewhat improved right? As a mage, if you increased my magic attack by 5 or even 10 I would barely notice. It's because adding INT has exactly the same effect as adding magic attk. So don't worry about getting "godly equips" for a mage. As for funding, you really don't need much. And since you're going regular LUK, scrolling is not so important. Just buy whatever equipment is made for your level. My lvl 15x bishop is my first character ever, had no funding to start with (and you don't need either :P). If you decide to make a fire poison/ice lightning you'll need a few million to start with for hp pots.

You will never need a work glove. The avg ywg adds 1~2 int and costs at least 5 mil (and is equipped at lvl 10) but if you just wait till lvl 20 (which isn't far off), you can equip a purple morrican, which adds an avg of 2 int and only costs like 50k.
