I have the wii fit and I was wondering if it'll help me lose some weight. I play soccer and the season starts soon but I wanna lose a couple pounds, and/or turn it into muscle, but will wii fit also help me do that, for my upper body?

You can do pushups and running, like everyone else. Because that's what you'll be doing at practices...

not likely, unless you do it excessively, I don't like the whole idea of the wii fit anyways it totally destroys the purpose of videogames: sitting on your ass moving nothing but your fingers

Maybe if you play for a few years... If you want to lose weight or gain muscle GO TO THE GYM

I don't think it'll make a difference.

Muscle building exercises? LOL you're not going to build muscle playing around on a wii fit pad.

Ehh....the games and stuff on the Wii Fit isn't exciting enough to be actively go on it. I go on Wii Fit every now and then if I have people over.

SureShot : Muscle building exercises? LOL you're not going to build muscle playing around on a wii fit pad. Er, doing push-ups on a wii fit pad is no different than doing them regularly. It still helps you build muscle IMO. And I can't go to the gym, my parents are always out and I can't walk there; they won't let me. I run on my free time, but that's for stamina and endurance, as well as leg/thigh muscles. I'd like to know if wii fit could help with that too, like the aerobics and stuff. They're hard D: Thanks for everyone who answered. I'm gonna see if I can lose a couple pounds in 2 weeks, just by playing Wii Fit and running.

No. As someone who's lost 50 pounds in the past year, I can tell you it's MUCH harder than WiiFit.

If you truly want to lose weight, do HIIT ( High intensity interval training ) So instead of running slowly for 10 minutes, sprint for 2 minutes, rest for 1, sprint for 2, etc...

Exercise helps you lose weight. Wii Fit contains exercise. The point of Wii Fit is to motivate and entertain you while exercising. So if you can't stomach some basic cardio without a proverbial spoonful of sugar, then games like Wii Fit are good for you. Its large variety of games/exercises are fun and entertaining while still giving you a light workout, and it is good for tracking your weight loss/gain and balance/posture. ...but you can save a lot of money by just, you know, running every day.
