if I karma my zhelm can i put it in my storage?

I think you can only trade it once, it still is a ''One of a kind'' item. Never tried it though

Yes you can, and then it will be locked to the character you take it out on

Yup, transferd my zhelm from my Sader to my hermit through the storage.
