| I have a 4 att 2 str panlid and an 84 att 5 str Glowing Whip. At what lvl will a 2h sword have higher attack and cost less? (So I can sell that Glowing Whip and put the panid back on my dit.) |

| You should think of switching to 2h at lv 50 getting the Japanese Map. Not sure if my math is right but I think you need around a 77 att to do higher damage. |

Now swing it with 2 hands. It was along the lines of that, same concept, same point gets across. It's proven that 2h gets a stronger damage formula. |

| Stay 1 handed. 2 handed is you already messed up your dex so you get enough for stonetooth or if you can manage to get a godly stonetooth. 1 handed's are weaker because they're not suppose to be stronger than 2h's but the range should be somewhat close and if you use 1 handed the speed increases your total damage output. Only go 1 handed if you can get a shield too. |

| The 2h sword damage formula is different than a 1h sword. Two Handed Sword = [(STR * 4.6 + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Attack One Handed Sword = [(STR * 4.0 + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Attack Frankly, I would NEVER go 1h sword without a 12atk + shield, let alone at 4att shield. But I understand at level 40, since glowing whip has a higher att... WAY higher att than any level 40 2h swords.... Anyways..... I'd replace your glowing whip with an atleast 75atk aluminum bat at level 45. Or a 80atk + Japanese map/Tiger's fang/Lions Fang. |

To be honest, a 2-h sword at the same weapon attack will give a higher damage range even with an atk shield. The shield has to be really powerful to even attempt to match... and to be quite frank, yours isn't... not by a longshot. The one issue that has pretty much changed between 1-h and 2-h swords is price - it used to be that 2-h end-game swords were more expensive than a 1-h sword and 12+ atk shield combo... in fact, the long-sought-after Stonetooth was over 500m clean. But when the Gachapon Box events came out, their prices dropped dramaticly, as did 2-h sword prices as a whole. Now, you could get a powerful 2-h sword (including a Stonetooth) for almost half the price of a strong atk shield (as the prices of atk shields went nowhere). Ultimately, you'd need to buy a much better shield than what you have in order to warrant going 1-handed... and to be honest, it's much cheaper to go 2-handed instead and still do very well for yourself. |

Had to cut out that portion =] OT: Personally, I'd go 1 handed until 50, then consider a cheap 2 handed alternative, while switching in between. Unless you have a home-scrolled shield and sword combo that can withstand a 2h attack, it is, as Silver said, cheaper to get along with a mildly scrolled 2h than a shield and sword. Generally speaking, shield and sword combos are meant as end game equipment, as the tremendous funding to provide for an attack that is higher than a 2h at every level would cripple anyone's wallet. Lastly, you can diversify your equipment between the two by using a gently scrolled shield and sword against a clean 2h and see whether you prefer the speed of a 1h or the range of a 2h. Each one has their own ups and downs. |

This. My Stonetooth used to be like 500m But I got it for 60m on some side FM and smiled on the inside. Sadly a 1h sword CAN be superior.. But even more sadly your shield can't make it superior 2h swords will dominate until you can cough up enough money for a good attack shield. And even after that you could make or buy a Stonetooth that can match up with for potentially less ...well unless you have no-dex. But I still refuse going 1h anyway |
