Alright, this is a question for my homework and I know that Basil are really good at arguing so "The punishment of one proven guilty of committing homicide should be the execution of a loved one when given consent by the victim's relatives." Discuss points for and against

but what the loved ones "escape" from being murdered? Anyways I say that the murderer should be tortured, then killed in a slow painful death. (as in dunking underwater then bringing back up for several hours on end.)

Wtf? Why hurt an innocent person? In most cases, a murder in cold blood would be because of either a horrid childhood, or something wrong in the head. Thus, the murderer would not be affected as much as you'd hope if you killed his relatives.

laoshadow : I would put the person in the worst jail there is for 25 years for a murder. 2+ murders I would call a death penalty. death penalty shouldnt be a punishment anymore. life sentance should be given inplace of death penalty

One death shouldn't account for another. You're leaving the accused, already in a fragile state of mind into an even more broken down state. It's a cruel form of punishment, and one of the times where I suggest primary execution of the convicted better than this. The one they're killing would have been innocent, and two wrongs don't make a right. Incarceration is the most effective, it gives time for repent, and once the convicted is out, he has to rebuild ties and trusts with everyone again. Killing another innocent person is just wrong. Killing a convicted's loved one < Execution < Incarceration

Tell me if im comprehending this wrong but....the punishment should be killing a loved one with relative consent? Why would the relatives grant permission to execute a loved one?

the death penalty is saying 2 wrongs do make a right but when really 2 wrongs dont make a right. therefore, all conservative red necks should shut up about family values.
