For my 3rd job build, I've decided to max all but thunder spear. There has been a controversy whether ts should be maxed or not. I feel it's almost useless to waste skill points on a skill that casts so slow, even with spell booster. Also, it's replaced during 4th job anyway, so it would be ideal to max out other skills. Elemental composition is maxed because it's not a biased skill. Thus meaning it can be some-what effective on all types of monsters. Maxing out partial resistance is also ideal because it is very helpful against monsters strong against ice. I can 1 hit harps at around level 122 because of that. Some say that slow from 2nd job should be maxed but I feel it's useless because seal can replace that. I feel it's not necessary to max out a 2nd job skill with 3rd job skill points. 4th job skills: I need help getting Ifrit and Ice Demon. I'm aware that Ifrit can be obtained after completing a quest. I'm not sure which quest it is. As for Ice Demon, I don't know where it can be obtained. Any comments or questions? *I'm also looking for a horntail necklace/elemental wand 7. Any sellers?

you can't seal bosses, but you can slow them. and tell me other than bossing, when you will fight monsters that will deal ice/lightning base attacks on you when you're fighting red wyverns, kents, firebrands, newties, himes, skeles. I'm sure they don't use ice/lightning based skills

If you complete the chain quest Ancient Ice Stone, You get the Ice Demon Skill.

http://ayumilovemaple.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/dummies-guide-to-magician-4th-job-skill-book-quest/ There ^^^ Btw, harps are not strong to ice. Blood harps are weak to ice and regular Harps are just neutral.

Sorry but your 3rd job build is kinda stupid, even after you made a thread about it and I showed you all of the good things about slow o-o Resistance NEVER helps me out, and putting 1 point in it already gives you like 20% resistance, so maxing it is really useless. Slow can be used on bosses, it really helps out sometimes, it's fun and what not. And for 4th job, well, killaz already gave you an answer.

Since when were mages made for bossing? Mages don't usually boss. Pap? Zak? I don't think so.. Even if we do, there's no fundamental difference between maxed slow and not maxed. It'll just slow it down, that's all.

* Ice Strike : You'll use it forever, of course, until you get level 1 blizzard and you're going to bliz train * Elemental Amplification : You'll need it or everyone will flame you (more) because of your damage and although you can potentially cast two spells so it's stronger than 180%, it saves time. * Seal : Useful for when you're near an auto-agro (a monster that will attack who ever on sight) monster and you either don't feel like freezing it, not enough time to freeze it, immune to freeze, or just don't want them using their skill. * Partial Resistance : Seriously, level 1 already provides 23% protection. This is worth more than wasting 19 potential skill points. Most monsters (non-bosses) you'll train on will not use Ice/Lightning based attacks. * Magic/Element Composition : It's faster than Thunder Spear, a bit weaker, but can freeze, uses both element, and deal damage higher than cold beam. Elemental Wands will not boost the damages of this skill because it's made up of two elements. * Thunder Spear : Slower than Magic/Element Composition, stronger, and has a pure element. This skill will work with an elemental wand, so if you do have one, between this skill and magic composition, it will probably win, but then again, most training spots are ice-weak. * Magic/Spell Booster : Level 11 is good enough, 9 more points will only extend the expiration time. I'd say that the 19 points you plan on spending on Partial resistance can be used here. * Slow : Again, works wonders with bosses (although it's a waste against bosses that don't move), funny to use on a snail (assumed when the skill is maxed) and can be used as a substitute for non-freezing monsters (you can seal them, but slowing them can also save you from touch damage)

Why are people arguing about her build? It's not like she can change it unless she buys SP resets... She's just asking for the quests for Ice Demon and Ifrit

Rofl, I love how you copied and pasted my words just 'cause you can't think of anything else to say. PR isn't the only benefitted for bossing..and there are a lot of ice/thunder monsters. Taurospear, blue kents, blue wyverns, etc. I don't think PR is supposed to DECREASE the damage against ice/thunder monsters...why would there be a skill that has no benefits at all?...

Just to let you know, ice mages never go there. I cant think of a single time i ever went to train there. Unless you want to be 4 hitting wiht blizz or getting your wallet burned through with pots, it's totally unnecessary. I only got partial resisstance FOR bossing. I know for a fact pap uses lightning and i believe zak does too (not 100% sure). Although mages dont boss, we still can. My guild allows me to zak with them and i have plenty of friends that want to pap with me.
