If I take my lvl 13 to Zombie Mushs, Will he get exp?

I tried this at lvl 12 but it didnt work. And I went back to octos. Will he get exp at lvl 13?

Zombie Mush is lev 28. You must be 5 levels under the monster level to get the exp. Be level 25 to gain exp from leeching.
