CPQ: Soul Blade vs Blast Slash

I recently tested out which one is better: Soul Blade or Slash Blast; in CPQ. Both times I had rombots and speed. Using Slash Blast i got 1800 Soul Blade i got 2000 Post your opinions. EDIT: Lvl 25 Soul Blade, MAX Slash Blast

Slash blast for bunch of mobs close. Soul blade for a bunch of mob but not as much and a far distance.

Do you have max soul blade? If not that might be part of the reason the scores were so close. I love my crusader, but a long range kick butt move to use would be really nice.

Soul Blade has a better DPM on mobs of ~5, and on mobs of 6, Slash Blast only wins by 1000%/minute in raw damage, in other words, 1.36% DPM. And Soul Blade has 300 range constant, whereas Slash Blast gives you 150 ~ 200 range at best.

Soul Blade is for long range mobbing. Slash Blast is for close-range mobbing.

rombots stop running at you to use their magic attack so they won't bunch up as nicely as Trojans do. This doesn't matter if you're using soul blade because of it's long range. Many things can also affect the cp totals: maybe it took them a little longer to summon, maybe you got stunned/darkness a few more times, Soul blade is 5(monsters) * 180% each = 900% per hit. (87 times per minute with boosted fast(4) iirc so 78300%/min in perfect, impossible conditions) Slash blast is 6(monsters) * 130% each = 780% per hit. (100 times per minute with boosted fast(4) iirc so 78000%/min in perfect, impossible conditions) They are nearly the same, which means that Soul blade clearly wins because of it's enormous range. My dawn warrior gets 600-700 more points than my fighter did with identical gear, and I don't think that's completely covered by 49 strength. The answer to your "test" should be obvious. If slash blast was superior then people wouldn't choose to max(or get 21) soul blade FIRST before mastery/rage. Everyone already has decided that Soul Blade > Slash blast, but thanks for 'checking'.

Soul blade, merely replaces Slash blast, more range and moreover no HP consumption.

Even if Slash Blast gave theoretially better DPM, you have to take into account the range. In any given moment, chances are there are not 6 monsters within slash blast range in front of you. There may be a large mob, but not 6 monsters squished into the tight space right in front of you. Most of the time, even when there are huge mobs, you will only hit, 3 or 4 (maybe 5).

Those figures are off, Soul Blade at the speed cap casts at 82/min while Slash Blast casts at 96/min. Edit: And it is much easier to control a mob with Soul Blade, so you should use Soul Blade after it is level 21, no matter what kind of mob you are facing, be it close or far.

I just alqays use soul blade regarless of how close the mobbs are=P I even use it to hit from far away until i get close enough for power strike lol
