| Push, push, push! He thought to himself just as the blizzard grew fiercer. The snow was coming down harder than ever, soaking thru everything; his pants, his boots, his waterproof jacket. Everything was getting soaked. And to accompany this barrage of snow, the winds had picked up, again, now hurricane force. He was struggling to stand up now, the snow on the sidewalks up to his knees, and the wind threatening to knock him down. He sometimes wished that the snow would stop and melt for once. But it never did. For as long as he could remember, the snow was always there, and it was always cold. It was a fact of life. But this , he thought as he looked up at the white sky, this is utter madness! He quickly looked away, the massive snow flakes freezing his eyes, and causing frost to form on his smooth eyebrows. He looked around. Everything was white. The scarce buildings were rectangular, white sand dunes rising from the general mass of white. The sky, which was white, blended seamlessly with the earth, which was also white. Push, push, push! He thought to himself again, as he restarted his trek towards school. He was welcomed by a grand feeling of warmth, which was a great improvement over the constant cold of the outside. He stood still for a while, as he usually did, to melt any snow or ice that may have stuck on his clothing during his trek. He took this chance to survey the inside of the school, just as he first did when he arrived three years ago. The main foyer was massive. It stretched four stories upwards and ended in a large, rounded dome. The old brick walls were covered with pictures of people, such as the towns founder, Johann Borg, and the inaugural headmaster of the school, Thomas Rosario. And then there were pictures of people he didnt even recognize. A man with an odd black beard that outlined his face, wearing a suit and a large top hat. A pale, smooth faced man with a narrow mustache, and a comb-over hairstyle. A man with a mustache angling downwards, and wearing spectacles connected to a chain. He didnt know any of these people. And when he asked anyone about the pictures, the answer was the same, these pictures are of unidentified individuals found in The Ruins. And when he asked what The Ruins were, that answer was also the same, Never a |
