Why do people deny evolution?

What thoughts go on in their head that convince them to deny evolution?

You love your pet no matter what it does. Even though you scold it for peeing on the floor, or chewing up your favorite slippers; you still love it. It's sort of like that.

He loves all His creation, in spite of the choices they make which may be against the ideal. How? Because a person is not the same thing as that which they do. One is a Physical entity, the other is an act. God loves murderers as people too, but certainly He would not approve of their actions. Do note that I'm not paralleling Homosexuality with Murder at all, the illustration is only used to explain the concept.

What I don't get is how something like the past can affect so many minds of the present? Instead of trying to prove others wrong, we could solve other worldly problems.

Note: Not trying to start any arguments, just something I want to point out. If people deny creationism because the bible is considered a fallacy(because it's "written by the hands of man") then doesn't that put scientific texts, documents, books, reports, theories, laws, and anything else related to science in the same boat? Scientists are humans, too.
