Age as an excuse for lack of manners

Today I had this sort of conversation with one of my teachers. H= Him, M = Me H: Can you close the door M: I CAN [As in able to], but I don't want to H: Excuse me? M: You're excused H: I gave you an instruction M: No, you asked me if I could do something H: Well, I didn't want to be rude and make it an order M: Yes, but I'm not going to be treated with child labor because my teacher can't be bothered closing a door H: It's not child labor, and I asked you to do something for me M: Well, your question didn't imply that I HAD to do it, so I chose not to. And besides, you didn't say please H: I'm your teacher, I don't need to. Then it continues on to me getting a detention. I irritates me when parents, teachers, or older people in general use their age as an excuse for lack of manners. I really don't care how old you are, but age shouldnt mean that -Not needing to say please and thank you -Allowance to use rude orders "Shut Up" "Go Away" -Allowance to talk over others etc.

Yeah it really does seem like you're rude, if he was like Hey you, yes you! Go close that door! I would have striked an argument like you did. But wow he just asked you to close the door. But I wasn't in your situation so I don't know the exact details. Usually in my school my teachers do use "Please" and "Thanks" on a regular basis. You could've just asked for one... And If I were you I would have been, "Yes, I can close the door, but will I?" correcting his grammatical error ha

Age CAN be an excuse for manners, but personally, I think that when a person hits a certain age, they should have some form of respect and not be a smart alec. I think it's the parents or guardian's job to teach their child to have manners and do what is asked of them.(not elbows off the table manners >.<) I'm not saying that if they're asked to kill somebody they should do it but, if they are asked something simple and easy to do by somebody in charge of them, they should do it. To me, at a certain age you just need to GROW UP! Evolve from that childish stage and do what's right, don't be so stubborn and or be a smart alec.

Am I the only that thinks this is a troll? He asks you politely, then you go all shakespeare on him. If he tells you to do it, you call him condescending. Get a hold of yourself. You're rude, condescending and a very bad grammar nazi.
