imogeneMovie Synopsis An elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer. Set ten years in the future, the film is an origin story, showing the rise of the Cobra Organization. Stephen Sommers said, "For people who know nothing about it, it'll make sense. And to people who love this stuff, it'll show where they all came from."The film focuses on Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord's (Marlon Wayans) induction into the G.I. Joe Team, providing the audience's point-of-view. Locations include the Arctic, Paris, Moscow, Washington, D.C., Australia and the Sahara. The G.I. Joe Team is based in the Pit, while it was indicated Cobra Island will appear. MOVIE TRAILER (youtube) IMDB PROFILE Now you know, AND KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE. Joe movie to come out for a long time, and finally it's going to be released this Friday on August 7. Well, all over the internets, there are G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra reviews popping up. And to a lot of peoples surprise, they are mostly positive. The major consensus is that Rise of Cobra will be a good 'summer popcorn' movie. Honestly, I dont think we were expecting anything less. [quote= Movie Reviews] Bottom line it worked great. The cast looked great, the costumes looked good on screen, the weapons were awesome and the story moved along pretty smoothly without any major plot holes. There were enough references and cameos to keep die hard G.I. Joe fans happy. But if this film is your first encounter with the Joes, no worries, it did a great job introducing the core team to newbies. - IESB.net So, like I said, its a fun but flawed movie. Its pretty much what you would expect a summer action movie to be. The biggest question, I guess, is this: Is it a G.I. Joe movie? Honestly, Id have to say No. Its not quite the G.I. Joe I remember, but it is a big, cheesy, fun and silly action movie that kept me entertained for about 2 hours. - AICN []but I can say that the children in the screening were having a blast, and without a doubt were pushing their parents to buy whatever action figure for the character they most identified with. - AICN Anyways, this was one of those test screenings so we were given ratings cards and the film was introduced by one of the exec producers of the movie. He mentioned we were one of the first audiences to see the movie but that the SFX for the final 20 minutes were still being finished, so he apologized if they seemed a little off. Honestly, it wasnt all the noticeable. - Jinxworld Forums Its a really good movie. Its a ton of fun and a great ride. And much closer to the GI JOE I remember tha

Ima see JUST for the matrix rip-off effects. It's a bad idea for a movie because it's G.I. Joe, and it doesn't get much cornier but HEY Jumpsuits and ninja is all I need...

I remember watching the show as a kid, haven't really watched alot of it, but I knew enough that I am really excited for the movie. I really hope they make one good movie based on a show that won't kill it for us.
