did you switch to vista recently?
qwan456 08/03/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
jean001 said: "did you switch to vista recently?" I did on this 4-ish month old computer, and my FPS is around the same as my old XP. Also, if I read his last reply correctly, his FPS problem is happening after 30 minutes into gameplay, so it's probably a heat issue reducing the performance of his GPU. Most likely it is, since he had it for at least two years. So the TS should like get a compress air can at the store, open up the bottom of his laptop, and blow any dust that may be obstructing the path of airflow. Also, if the TS haven't done so yet, update your GPU driver.

Unfortunately, the 9500mGS is just a rebadged 8600mGT, which has quite a few issues, including running quite hot, which im sure you have noticed. Best bet is to do as Qwan said, and if your laptop has any vents on the bottom, you could get a notebook cooler for it.

ok so if u been playing for 2 years and its been good up untill now, its probably your internet connection if u want to upgrade your laptop LOL the only thing u could do to increase performance is increase ram, but it wont help much with MS if u want to upgrade your graphics LOL nope laptops ususally have a IGP (intergrated graphics processor) and dont have a PCI slot at all and if u do have a laptop with an actual card, than your screwed anyways cuz no body sells them :D

HairyStick said: "Sooo I oepn the bottom laptop spray dust off and wa la?" When you said spray, I'm like picture some person spraying Windex or something on it. xD But yeah, open it up, blow the dust out, and it probably help. Just don't be cheap and decide you are going to used a vacuum cleaner instead...It build up static electricity and could possibly kill your system. Also, if you want, you could also get a laptop cooler like Skye said.
