My PS3 broke, the yellow light of death or something happened to it. Ive been told to send it to sony for them to repair it. The thing is i dont know how, nor where to send it. Could anyone with past experience with this please guilde me to how to do this? Note: I dont want to provoke a huge flame war of consoles, i just need to know this. Please if you dont have anything useful to contribute, dont say anything at all. Thanks.

Once you send it in, prepare to have it returned with ALL YOUR GAME FILES erased.

Go to the Sony's Page. And look for support. And look for warranty.. and then they should guide you from there.. Put it in a box or something and they will give you a adress to send to Sony..

That's one reason not to get a PS3. My N64 or gamecube have never broken yet. If its possible, get your info backup up on a memorycard.

The chances of a PS3 breaking down are far rarer than a 360... though a Wii certainly is more reliable. Still, the PS3's failure rate is very low. Anyways, if you can't figure out how to do it on your own, may I suggest taking it to a Sony store?

I'd die if my PS3... died... As MySoulessDesire stated... you can send your PS3 in but I think there's a charge but not as much compared to buying a new PS3.

A flame war is inevitable, sadly. Just give Sony a call or something.

If he still has warranty.. and sends it in.. he would need to pay for Shipping and Handling.. That's the only thing they would charge him I think.. Your saved PS3 Games will be deleted cause.. you will get a refurbished one instead..

I had no warranty for it, does that affect me in anyway?
