What do you basilers, think a person needs to become a Mod? Current Mods:Since you ARE a mod, what do you think they should have? I only made this to see basil's reactions's since I've been hearing about threads about X or Y want to be a Mod, and are "qualified." but since this is basil, i want to hear your thoughts on what they should be. I'd love to hear your suggestions, and please dont be afraid to. I just don't want you all to be flamed for making X be suggested as a "good mod" and other people saying "OMG He's really bad. he sucks. etc." /Discuss

#1: They have to be able to work well with the current team. #2: They must report frequently, fairly, and for the purpose of making the site better. #3: They must set an example by being both a prominent user and by being rarely suspended. #4: Perform above and beyond the call of duty for a regular user. #5: Mrbasil's personal opinion of you must be acceptable. Those are the only qualifications. Moderators may suggest who they think should join the team, but it inevitably comes down to what mrbasil suggests and how the other moderators feel about those members. After this, it's completely mrbasil's decision. I can certainly tell you that there is a quality that I think is necessary but mrbasil and the other mods overlook, and that'd be the ability to forgive and understand. Frequently, you will see times where moderators will be attacked and berated for their mistakes and for things that they are coerced into doing because of the rules that they are sworn to follow. I should hope that the next mod that joins the team truly understands the ability to forgive those that attack them. I have seen very few people who have this quality, and certainly not every moderator has it.

Tell that to the guy who called me a gay nazi KGB hypocrite because I suspended him unfairly when he was trolling. It is pretty lol-serious. e: Regardless, I shouldn't even be online, but I still play maplestory, so I need a price check every once in a while. :X

Dedication, discernment, diligence, intelligence (darn that one doesn't start with D), able to work with others? Just some things I came up with off the top of my head.

TobiasBlackyou can also add "a stern sense of self, and the ability to stand up for your decision in the face of adversity."
