I have been stuck on this problem since 10 o' clock (it's now 11:15). And yes, i am in 6th grade. 5 mill for anyone who can give me the equation/answer (must be in scania) The question : A passenger train travels 60 mph and a freight train travels 40mph. It takes the passanger train 1.5 h less time to cover the same distance as a freight train. how long does it take each train to make a trip? EDIT : Here are some more. (5mill each question) : 2) Hans needs to rent a moving truck. Suppose Company A charges a rate of $40/d and company B charges $60 plus $20/d. How many days, must Hans rent the moving truck to justify company B? 3) May rides her bike the same distance that Leah walks. May rides her bike 10km/h faster than Leah walks. If it takes may 1 h and Leah 3 h, how fast does each travel?

Let x be the time it takes the passenger train to get to its destination 60x = passenger trains distance covered 40(x+1.5) = freight trains distance covered Since they're equal distances, set the two expressions equal to one another and solve 60x = 40x + 60 20x = 60 x = 3 3 hours for passenger train and 4.5 hours for freight train

May travels 15 km/hr
