Sorry if this is a stupid question. x__x Suppose I am 18 and want to get a prescription of Birth Control from my doctor. Would the doctor tell my parents? Or do I need my parents to be there, or something, in order to get the pills?

I'm wondering the exact same thing. That's why whenever my friends or Basil say to "go see the doctor" im afraid to go because he might tell my parents and it'll be embarassing T_T

You're 18 your parents no longer have any part in your life other then what you allow them to have. No they won't tell your parents.

Nope. I don't even think there's an age that the doctor can tell your parents, but definitely not 18+. No worries. You could always talk to your doctor about the confidentiality, too...just as an extra.

The Teen Clinic or whatever they're called, those you can get stuff without them telling anybody Oh, and there's a certain age that you have to be to be able to decide to keep stuff from your parents or not. You're definitely past that age already.

it depends on where u live. for example in montreal, the legal age for confidentiality is 16 therefore without ur permission, the doctor cannot tell ur parents anything unless its an extreme situation.

Read the clinic's information confidentiality clause. Moreover, in some states, it is illegal for doctors to inform your parents, if you request they do not. Others may be different; I'm afraid you'll have to do this research yourself.

Youth Clinics DO NOT give birth control pills to girls under the age of 18. Atleast in Maryland they do not.

If you use your parents insurance yes the bill will go to them.

i think new york clinics wouldn't tell your parents but i don't know if you have to pay or not.
