MG is not the first skill you get, but one of the must skills. It's like magic guard for mages, if you have let's say 500 HP, the monster does 1000 damage, you die. But with magic guard, you only take 20% HP damage, so you only take 200 damage with HP, and you survive.

I believe the math for it (correct me if I'm wrong) is at max 1hp = 1 meso so it's like using a Barb elixir

its takes 50% dmg of of the total and i believe the damage taken of is the amount of mesos so lv1 uses 90% of the dmg took of EDit idk why but if you found this helpful quote it plz
