Intro WARNING: If you don't care about damage, this thread is not for you! This is a comparison of damage ONLY, please do not debate about other topics. People say bishops do more damage than arch mages because skeles is the best training spot. Do bishops really do more damage at skeles? Let us find out. Here is a scenario in which we follow through the monetary activities of a bishop and an arch mage until level 130. They both start at level 120. They have the same stats. Both characters have 1 billion mesos. They spend 100m on equips. 900mil left. Meso balance #1: AM: 900 million mesos Bishop: 900 million mesos 2nd job meso gain Oh, but bishops earn more during 2nd job. My I/L only earned 10m from 1-70, while my priest earned 20m. Let's fix that. Meso balance #2: AM: 900+10= 910 million mesos Bishop: 900+20= 920 million mesos S>LEECH Now, they train to 130. That is 403,190,488 EXP. Let's estimate that with around 10~20 mil exp gained per hour (based on how fast I gained exp at this level range), it would take 30 hours of total playtime. Let's say this arch mage is stupid, and did not make a HS mule. They cannot sell leech for as much as the bishop. Suppose that the bishop sells for 10m/hr, while the HS-less AM sells for 8m/hr. 30 hours. 8m per hour and 10m per hour. AM earns 240mil. Bishop earns 300mil. Meso balance #3: AM: 910+240 = 1150 million mesos Bishop: 920+300 = 1220 million mesos Potion Usage Oh, but you forgot that AMs use alot of pots! Nope, I didn't forget. 2X as many pots to be exact. I used around 2mil per hour worth of pots at these levels (p.s. only 1.3mil per hour at higher levels). So the AM uses 2m/hr, bishop uses 1m/hr. 30 hours. AM spends 60mil on pots. Bishop spends 30mil. Meso balance #4: AM: 1150-60 = 1090 million mesos Bishop: 1220-30 = 1190 million mesos Bossing profits Also, bishops get invited to bosses, unlike AM, so lets throw in an extra 100m profit from Zak runs to the bishop. Meso balance #5: AM: 1090 million mesos Bishop: 1190+100 = 1290 million mesos Skill book purchasing Now, here is the best part. Skill books. Assume Level 20 books work on 1st try, and Level 30 works on 2nd try. 1 x Blizzard 20 = 30mil 1 x Genesis 20 = Hell, lets say the bishop earned it at Zak. 2 x Blizzard 30 = 90mil 2 x Genesis 30 = 1000mil Meso balance #6: AM: 1090-30-90= 970 million mesos Bishop: 1290-1000 = 290 million mesos Well that was unexpected. Looks like the AM can afford a better weapon... Buying weapons Suppose the arch mage buys a 155m.atk/5int Elemental wand for 970m. The bishop buys a 102m.atk/13int wisdom staff for 290mil. Adding up M.atk I had around 900 magic attack at level 130, weaponless. 900 + 155 + 5 = 1060 m.atk for the AM 900 + 102 + 13 = 1015 m.atk for the bishop *I won't even include medi. Let's say the bishop buys 20 m.atk pots. Actual damage So the arch mage has more magic. But skeles are weak to HOLY. How will this affect their damage? Genesis = 670 * 1.5 elemental advantage = 1005 base attack Blizzard = 570

But the main factor is... Bishops get into boss runs more.

TiMmYDouGj said: "But the main factor is... Bishops get into boss runs more." So the answer should be Bishops are the more profitable class. AMs are for those who like to do good dmg. It still pains me to call a Mage an attacker. :X

Yes, Bishops are more the likely invited to boss runs. Don't get me wrong but AM's have their uses too. They are excellent spawn control, us bishops are more beneficial for heal, res, hs and dispell. Again, there are always pros and cons.

TiMmYDouGj said: "But the main factor is... Bishops get into boss runs more." So? They still spend infinity money on just Genesis 30. Most of them go 30-less and stay at 20, you forgot to add that in. My AM I/L friend still gets into Zakum often. Why? Because he TRIES to get into one. Either that or he organizes one. OT: TS, you are my hero. Finally numbers are up, not just biased opinions.
