Why is there tax in maple?

I dont see the point of tax in MAPLESTORY. All it really does is make the buyer a little frustrated.

All the mesos taken by taxes.. If those mesos were to be redistributed to everyone, then everything would be much more expensive because everybody has more meso. Now you don't want that, do you?

Meso sink. It helps reduce the gold in circulation so you we don't get hyper inflation... like jMS. If hyper inflation occured, new people would have a harder time starting: GFA 60% in jMs are/use to be something like 200m. Not because no one had them, but because EVERYONE had millions of mesos.
