Quick question xD How come all guides say max Burst Fire first? Idunno but wouldn't it be better to like.. Put 1 point in burst fire and then max out flamethrower and then burst fire? O.o Wouldn't you level faster with the mob skill? o.O?

Well, Burst Fire takes 20 SP, and Flamethrower takes 30. So you can max out Burst faster than FT. Plus, Flamethrower isn't really that great of a mob skill. Unless you have a mob of 6 right in front of you, it's not so good, and it would suck even more if you didn't have Icespitter to combo with it. Don't get me wrong, at later levels when you have both Fire + Ice, it can be a great mobber, but your probably gonna be at Windraiders until 8X anyways, and Burst Fire would help you more there.

Burst fire helps you do more dmg faster, and FT is only more powerful then it when maxed and alternated with 26 ice. That's 56 SP, whereas burst fire take 20 SP. That's the reason yo go burst -> ice -> fire -> octo -> 15 gaviota -> homing. Burst can cover you while you max fire/ice

imaalex said: "flamethrower is worthless i neverr used it" I didn't use it much either, but I think you'll find that it's more useful in 4th job than 3rd. In 3rd job you don't want to rely on mobbing too heavily because Outlaws have garbage mobbing damage, but once you have a good level of Torpedo you'll use that often and sometimes be left with a mob of almost dead monsters. Flamethrower is a perfect finisher for them as you recoil to the next mob.
