Ok, so I'm due for a new bike. My price range is anything up to 200$ I need 26" wheels, I tried looking and came up with... http://www.d_ckssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2964635 (replace _ with an i) But the reviews don't look so good. I'm only going to be using it for neighborhood riding, and occasional off-roading. Anyone got anything?

I got a good bike from Wal-Mart for about $90. I can't remember the make though... but I think it was 21 speed. Can anyone explain how to use the speeds on a bike? o.o

If you look, the lowest gear makes you go the slowest no matter how fast you pedal while the largest and highest gear is for the fastest speed but is really hard to pedal when stopped. This probably goes with the tension ont he wheel as well.

I think I understand what you're saying... it's just hard to grasp.

Gears on a bike are meant to suit the type of inclination you're cycling on. If you're going uphill, use lower gears to make it easier on your legs. If you're going on a straightway, use a mid or heavy level gear to be able to pick up speed.

get a road bike there a smooth slim ride great for riding around the neighborhood or around town. if your expierienced get a fixed gear
