How do you speed up your computer? So I start up my computer. Everything is normal. Then when I log into my account... That's where it all begins. My computer starts making noises, like it's going to asplode. There's this light on my computer. When it's green, it means it's fine. But when it's orange, it's gonna asplode. So after I log in, the computer starts to have spasms. And the light is orange. So it takes AIM 2 mins to open. I'm fine with that. But when I open Firefox, it takes 10 MINUTES to open. And then it takes another 5 MINUTES to open up the tabs I want. So overall, it takes me 15 MINUTES TO START UP THE COMPUTER It really is starting to piss me off. I don't want to wait 15 minutes to actually used the computer. Before, it only took like 5 mins. (I'm fine with 5 minutes and a slow computer.) But c'mon. 15 minutes? That's ridiculous. The things I tried was: -Uninstalling useless crap -I tried ending useless processes when I opened the computer. Uhh. So yeah. Help please? I'm back. More help please

How long has it been since you reformatted?

Get CCleaner, run it. Also you can download Game Booster, it will turn off programs that you don't need running.

You could try this, but im not positive it will work. Open Notepad. Type "mystring=(80000000)" [without the quotations] Save as "____.vbe" [the ____ can be anything you want] Double click it. [its supposed to clear your RAM or something like that...] A smart thing to do would be to drag it to your startup folder, which is located in your "All Programs," so that it automatically runs when you login into your account.

ScaniaSin said: " How long will this take? ._." Could be awhile. It's an anti-virus scan. If your computer is going that slow I feel a virus could definitely be a problem. Also, like someone else said, run CCleaner too (after malwarebytes is done).

Running a defrag will help as well.
