Hi everyone, I'm new to singing (just started about almost 2 months ago) and I needed some support. I already got a good inspiration and a decent diaphragm control, a "newbie" vibratto (but still a vibratto) and I practice about 30 mins - 1 hour daily (though I may skip days sometimes). My teacher told me that my voice was a low oriented baritone type (which kind of kills my hopes of high notes) though he has recently told me that I've been able to reach very good high notes. I currently feel somewhat bad though I try to record myself on my cellphone and I feel as if I sounded bad which kind of demotivates me; I think it could be that recordings may not be accurate since I think I sound better while hearing myself (the room I practice in, kind of reverberates my voice). I would also like to do like those "climax" parts of singing where singers sound so powerful and extreme, but I don't feel as if I was able to do it. I know live singing sound not so powerful nor so perfect as the final recording (as I've heard the same artists singing live) but I still get fooled by it. Any advanced or intermediate singers willing to lend some advice or support?

You will always sound different on a recording than in your own head, sadly. It surprised me quite a bit the first time I heard myself. The best advice I can give you is to keep practicing, but don't strain yourself too much--unlike other instruments if you damage your voice it could be permanent.

EDIT: @ above: Is there a way to be able to hear myself in a 100% accurate way without the need of a recorder, like hearing myself while singing

Go to youtube and type in Seth riggs Speech level singing (something along the lines of that) It gives you good warm ups that help you expand your range. It worked for me but I wasn't very consistent with it so I'm on and off with it now. Edit: you can hear yourself better by plugging one of your ears and singing.

I'm taking singing classes already and I think I should stick to that since real teachers can tell you if you're doing it right and stuff.
