How does FA mess up spearman? o_o;

I always wondered about that. :/ I'm making my spearman have a pure polearm build but I keep hearing from others (E.g: The hybrid build spearmen) that Final Attack messes up their attacking. o-o;;

FA lowers mobbing damage for warriors because the 250% in the description is cut up amonst each monster in very inconsistent way. It does like 150% on the first target, 50% on the next, 20% on the next, and so on. FA increases single target damage by a little and 2nd job warrior training is based around mobbing. I think the pure numbers are something like FA increases Power Strike DPM by 8% and Decreases mobbing DPM by 12% on average. Then once you're in third job and beyond FA isn't used at all.

Final Attack, like said, will lower your mobbing capabilities in 2nd Job, and be completely useless in 3rd Job onward. Those points could instead be used for the opposite weapon's mastery and a bit in booster (which can be maxed by taking away extra SP from being Pure) which would make you more efficient overall.

If you want final attack you must save up 9 sp points and then add it all to the skill. If you add one it will be weak and slow down ure training process.

Final Attack is also 50% stab, 50% slash, meaning its average damage is lower than Powerstrike itself >_>

Oh okay, thanks! <3 As for the extra SP, would it be wise to use it on Iron Will in the end? I don't plan on becoming a hybrid. =O

| Really there aren't any disadvantages to a hybrid. If you feel that you don't like spears or you don't plan on using them you could just keep your polearm. A hybrid can do everything a polearm user can do but they're more flexible and adaptable to different situations. But if you're deadset on being pure PA then Iron Will or Iron Body are your choices I guess. Either that or Endure/HP recovery :| |

Yes. If you take a pure build path, the remaining points will be dumped into Iron Will.
