Why do people think that it's just rap that's dead?

First off rap isn't dead. Turn on your TV and change it to Muchmusic or MTV or something, someone will be rapping. I know people are going to say that it's not good rap, but compared to the rock we have now it's like the Jonas Brothers, and this generation is comparing them to The Beatles, yeah the ****ing Beatles! I recently saw a show featuring Buddy Guy when he was in town, and the only brand of music that I know for sure is dying is Jazz and the Blues. You hear em on the radio or see it on TV so rarely that it's just sad. The only famous Blues musician I know of that is still performing all around the world is Buddy Guy, and I see absolutely nothing on him. Rap is still alive and well, guys like Gillie have some great music, guys like the Kings of Leon are keeping rock alive and I hear Billy Ray Cyrus is going to make a new album for country (He's great too.) Not to mention there are still legendary musicians still alive like Elton John and Eminem ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYi8ZvbyGrI ) Dre's Chronic 3 is still in the talks and Snoop Dogg's country singles aren't bad.

Compare the Jonas Brothers (Our current Rock leaders) to The Beatles. Then compare Lil Wayne to someone like Tupac. See the similarities? It's not just Rap. @OmgPanda Yes it's rap, the reason why Flo Rida is good is because he appeals to the current generation too just like Kanye or Dr. Dre back in the 90's.

Where did that come from. You are probably one of those people who worship tupac, the dude died over a decade ago, let it go, who cares, hes just another "rapper".

The Jonas Brothers are not the current rock leaders. If anybody is, it would be bands like Linkin Park or other bands. And a lot of people hate Flo Rida and Kanye. (Though I like some of their songs )

I respect him and every other musician/performer from Elvis to John Lennon and anyone else who has made good music.

Jonas are not rock leaders...just the disney music leaders :3 And rock is a very GENERAL term nowadays
