What's supposed to happen is this occurrence that happens once every 11 years where Jupiter and Saturn are as far away from each other as possible, on opposite sides of the sun. Since they're the biggest planets and have the most affect on the sun, the sun becomes a lot stronger. Of course, that's not the main problem as that has happened several times before and it was never anything too extreme. It's the other thing that happens on that day, where, supposedly, our solar system will align with the galactic equator which apparently is a huge source of gamma radiation which supposedly super powers our sun even further. What ends up happening is if the gamma rays don't kill us already, our super-powered sun will obliterate our atmosphere and burn us all.
