Why are we encouraged to take pride in our country when pride is not encouraged in other countries?

Cause America wants to be special...we need to have GOD in the pledge of alliegence, we CAN'T burn the flag. I personally think it's just a bunch of BS.

That doesn't even come close to answering my question Why should we take pride in what our ancestors did? In fact, we should ask ourselves if our ancestors are even good. Just because they fought wars doesn't mean they're good.
