cocobenz said: " Bucc has huge damage, around 100k+ per every maxed barrage + 30k mobbing with maxed DS. Don't forget stun mastery." True. I do around 70k-80k with level 18 barrage without stun, meaning I could do so on bosses, and probably over 100k at max. I do around 35k at best with max DS, without stun. Thing is, Corsairs do what? 60-80k damage per Cannon at max? They also do around 20k+ with Torp3do, and both of these skills are faster. They're both just about as strong as eachother(IN THE END) while one is faster. The big difference is playing style, and the ease in actually getting there. I'm making both..I mean, why not?;)

Stellar said: "If you like to train fast, have a easy time and solo and do high damage: Corsair If you don't care much about damage, you like challenges and skill/technique/combos: Bucc" How are buccs a challenge? 1st and 2nd job slingers is hell.
ikillerbarney 07/22/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Lol it takes great patience to reach outlaw. While 2nd job of brawlers is easy.

Both classes have advantages and disadvantages, it's really all just a choice of playing preference. If you like close-range stuff, go brawler. If you like long-range, go gunslinger. Brawlers have a slower attack pace, and require chaining together of many different attacks to keep a decent DPM. They specialize in mobbing, in lower levels they are partied for good damage, and in later levels are wanted in parties for skills like Time Leap and Speed Infusion, although their overall single-target DPM has somewhat fallen by the wayside. They are still good when it comes to training fast and keeping up with grinding though, as they have excellent mob control abilities. Gunslingers start out fast but weak, with a lack of party skills (which they never do get) and this leads to them often being unwanted in the lower levels for PQs. Aside from that rocky start though, they catch back up with other classes in third job and keep getting more powerful from there, while still retaining their speed. A lot of people will hype on their high 1v1 DPM, which is nice and all, but personally, why I think Corsairs are better and more fun? It's because they have their own freaking mini-zoo! Seriously, in third you get a seagull, a pair of octopus and a parrot. What do any other jobs get in third? One summon? And then in fourth you get a whole flock of seagulls, three octopus and a BOAT to put them all in! Noah's ark meets MS? Oh and you get Hypnotize too, which, while not actually terribly useful in terms of killing monsters, is absolutely hilarious because it allows you to make pretty much any monster on MS your little minion to go run around attacking other monsters for you. But uh, yeah, summon-pets aside, they do lots of damage, and they're really really fast.

Does anyone know the price on a 79/13 Golden Claw?
MJRmutation 07/23/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
neither one is better, no class is superior to another one. it all depends on what you want, if you want to see some high numbers and flashy skills during 2nd job, then go bucc. but if you want speed and high dont midn waiting till 4th job for osme high numbers then go sair. just be mindful that the reason corsairs have the highest DPM is with battleship canon, which at lvl 130+ can take some pretty good damage, and with bullseye, which increases the damage taken by the target you hit, and also does some pretty good damage itself.

I know you mean well, but you seem to be sort of biased seeing as you're an outlaw, so you've listed outlaws and sairs to be all "whoop-de-do-fun", like they're their own theme park. And then you make buccs seems like this sort of sad, lonely and desolated waste planet. Just saying, next time you TRY to play the "they have advantages and disadvantages card", don't unbalance things in favour of your preference.

AngelxHoly said: "I know you mean well, but you seem to be sort of biased seeing as you're an outlaw, so you've listed outlaws and sairs to be all "whoop-de-do-fun", like they're their own theme park." I list those things for Outlaws because they are what I think are fun. If I didn't think they were fun, then why would I play the class? Of course I'm biased, I never said I wasn't, that's why I play an Outlaw instead of a Maruader (okay well I play on my bud's brawler pretty regularly, but still). I've long since realized there are plenty of other people who play slingers or have looked at the class, and couldn't care less about the summons, all they want is 'omgdamagedamagedamage' ... pfft. That shouldn't be the only reason you play a game. Besides, that point has already been brought up in this thread. I'm not trying to play any card, but thank you for assuming as such. If you wanted me to unbalance things in my favor, I'd tell him to go make a buc without hesitation. Don't need anymore 'slingers chasing after my gun scrolls =P
