Considering a Blaze Wizard's Fire Arrow is just 30 m.atk stronger than magic claw, and both of them have an elemental advantage over fire-weak monsters, which one is more useful? Is slow worth maxing instead of Fire Arrow? Thanks

Slow is helpful to me right now, and I'm an I/L. If I were to make a Blaze Wizard (and I am), I'd rather have Slow, mostly because of Flame Pillar in 2nd job and Fire Curtain in 3rd job. Magic Claw can cover the single targets up until Fire Strike is capable of replacing it anyways.

Slow is certainly helpful when misting. It keeps the monsters in the cloud longer, thus giving a better chance of poisoning. It also helps in that you'll stay ahead of the mob. If anyone's done mist training on Elderwraiths in Phantom Forest (specifically that hidden map in Forgotten Path), slow brings them to a CRAWL. It gives ya some breathing room while you're waiting for the poison to do its job...if you're in a flat map. Otherwise, you can just circulate the map and knock things off one by one. This point is even further emphasized when you throw Seal into the mix. Unfortunately, while the Blaze Wizard's FA is indeed lovely, there are far too many useful skills in their second job that you simply shouldn't be without. Though I think it's a superior 1v1 move (certainly better than Magic Claw) that can get ya through PQs (I'm thinking things like Allishar, Papa Pixie, and Lord Pirate to name a few), your options are very limited. That said, if you really want FA maxed for whatever reason, I'd advise taking out Meditation rather than Slow. Don't underestimate it, being one of the few status effects that works on bosses will certainly serve you well into 3rd job. And you can always buy wizard elixirs at NLC.

Even thought im not the maple mage type, Meditation is similar to "Rage" the fighter skill. You can Buy Warrior elixers which add w.a.. Just as you can buy the mage equivilant (forgot the name) No amount of mesos is ever worth a skill point. |

I'm going to max Fire Arrow just because it looks so cool. Although...slow would probably work better in the long run... I thought I had my blaze wizard all figured out and now you post this up. Thanks a lot TS. Slow, Fire Arrow, Slow, Fire Arrow, Slow, Fire Arrow...OMG I can't choose!
