Clearing up the hacks.

First off, there IS a hack going around. It is just not as bad as everyone thinks. I have heard of people talking about hackers chasing people around, and hacking people by the hundreds. THIS IS NOT TRUE! All the hack does is disconnect you, and then the hacker has your character. However, once they log off, they can't go back on. So the only thing at stake are your items; they get NO security info whatsoever. The skeptics are people who haven't been hacked. OBVIOUSLY they will deny it. It is a scary thing, and they haven't been hacked themselves, so they don't believe it. I have read people saying things like, "ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS BE IN THE SAME ROOM!" making it seem like the hacker just clicks you and they've hacked you. This is also untrue. All of the reported cases have been people who were told to cc to a random channel. For example, someone was standing in the FM channel 5, and they see people. The people say "I'll sell you this rare item for 100k" or something like that, and then they say, "first cc11, too many people here." once you cc, you dc, and they control your character until they log out. With this in mind, the hack seems relatively easy to avoid. They can't just click and hack you, so follow the tips. -Try to avoid buying/selling stuff for now -FM is fine as long as you don't listen to the hackers. (ex. Don't cc if someone tells you to.) -If you think you are going to get hacked, don't be stupid and, "AFK in a mini dungeon." LOG OFF! Then they CAN'T hack you. -Don't PQ, people always say, "cc5, or cc11" if you are pqing, you have an increased risk of falling for the trap. Apparently, you have an ID that stands for you and all your stuff. And every time you CC, your ID logs out, then back in. If the hacker knows what channel you are going to cc to, they can find a way to get your ID when you change to that channel. If they log in, and then you log in, you get dced for being on twice, and then they get to use your character.

Why not don't even bother, instead of avoiding buying/selling? Things can accidentally happen. Staying offline is 100% safe.

No. Its a CC hack. I know the guy who made it. if you CC to a predictable channel on the same map as the hacker, the hacker can predict where you are going and log in on the designated channel as you. You get dc'd for being logged in twice. Check my posts, I told people this a LONG time ago.

^No that isnt it. They sit in FM and FM only. Rarely they walk to popular training grounds or pq's. Its only 2 people.
