As the title implies, there's a girl in my life that I've loved for a year and a half now. This isn't a "Should I ask her" thread, because I already plan on asking her out. Unfortunately, I'm the kind of guy who always wants to be truthful, and make others happy. The truthful part is what puts me in this dilemma. I am Bi. I want to tell her, because something like this can alter relationships in a big way. I've asked some of my closest friends, because some people just have a homophobia towards gays and bis. They don't know what I should do, and one of them is being a jerk-off. Great, how far has that gotten me... I want to tell her, and I know I should tell her. But, fear of the unknown got the better of me. I'm just seeking encouragement to go through with all of it, so please, help me if you can. ~Pat.

If the girl were me, I would want the truth. If you get too close without telling her, she might think that you've been deceiving her. On the other hand, if you tell her straight out, although she might feel uneasy, she'll probably give you a chance for you to show that being bi would not affect your love for her. So the effects could either be longterm shock, doubt, anger; or mild shock, curiousity, and thoughtfulness. Women appreciate a confident man. Go get her tiger. ^^
