Is there a way that I can system restore my Dell "Dimension 4550" Desktop? Because it if pretty ****ed up right now.

If it's Vista, it should've come with a disk if you bought it new. The disk will allow you to go back to any point in time (on your computer). If you put the operating disk in, when you restart your computer there will be an option to restore your computer.

My pc automatically creates restore points. You should be fine. (if yours does the same)

Just get your C: drive cleaned. If its Vista you could try turning it on and hitting F8.

I see you have taken people's advice and have decided to reformat your computer (I read your other thread) If you want to do a system restore, it will only be possible if you have setup a restore point (a certain date and time). However, it has become apparent that computer's will automatically create restore points after a major change has been made to its mainframe. Judging from your problem, since you are having problems with your computer, you should see a few restore points if you check the 'system restore' restore points calender. Usually, when you download a new program, Windows will automatically detect it as a 'change' to its natural environment. From this, it will automatically create a 'restore point' which will allow you to return to that exact same moment of the restore. If you have an idea of when your computer started to go 'haywire', I suggest you check the system restore points and look for a suitable restore point during that time. As for reformatting your computer, if you bought your computer from a retailer, you should have been given a few recovery discs, which will allow you to restore certain programs if/when your computer is going through a 'tough time'. Or, if you do not have these discs available, I would suggest that you put all of the programs (the setup executable files [xxxxx.exe. etc.]) and files you want onto an external hard drive, a large capacity USB drive, or a CD rom. Before you do so, you should scan all of those files before you put them onto your carrying device, otherwise you would be transferring viruses to your new computer as well, and you're back to where you started. Hopefully you do have a retailer version of Windows XP, otherwise you will be having Windows Genuine problems, which will restrict you from doing many things. *I hope this comment has helped you.
