I'm not a beta player, I'm not a 1st day player, so I'm not talking about back then. I started right before they put Aqua Road into GMS. This is my opinion on MS over those years. Wall of text ahead. Flame away, I don't care, this is my opinion as it stands at this very moment. Back then, MS was a simpler game. People weren't as obsessed with money and damage as they are now. Leeching was unheard of and the only hacks were dEMI and item vac. People didn't feel a need to get to a certain level, or get a certain amount of mesos, they played for the fun of the game. MapleStory was actually a GAME back then, not like now. Now, MS has evolved. Some think for the better, some think for worse. Leechers are everywhere, KSers are everywhere, DMG hoes are everywhere, and prices have more than tripled and more than halved on some items. I think MS has evolved for worse, and it will continue to get worse, eventually causing its own downfall from a good game to one that nearly nobody will be able to enjoy purely. I've watched MS from the front lines and from basil for a long time now, and I can see that the community and game style has changed. I'm not flaming anyone, and I'm not flaming the game. Just simply making an observation. Also, when the hackers of a game have some players scared to log on,(Yes the infamous new hack) it's time to think about the company. Nexon could've gotten rid of it by now. Nexon has also contributed to the downfall of MS by adding various elements to the game that shouldn't have been there to begin with. They're money hungry and will stop almost nothing to get their ever expanding revenue. That's all I'm gonna put in this thread. If anyone requires an explanation on anything I said, PM me and I'll be glad to help. Edit : I'm not saying I quit, I still have my 45 LowDex sin (Not for the DMG, but because I've never tried a low-stat build or a sin.) I'm still working on.

dude come on stop feeling sorry for yourself. people have always been obsessed with money and damage because thats the point of the game. and before people say its about friendship, thats what real life is for. this game is just for entertainment and people who take it more seriously then a pass-time deserve to be banned from it.

They've never been able to steal any items. A couple dumb asses get scammed then says they got hacked, then everyone goes bonkers. Its been goin on and off. (I know you didn't say that directly, but you said infamous new hack) On topic ~ MS has gotten simpler, its gone from modern to uncivilized. Modernly, people like to sit down and talk, and relax, which was like it was back then. Uncivilized people, or may I say, Cave Men, were all about whos strongest, who can kill animals better, who has a better cave etc. And they've even dumbed down the game play, just look at how it perfects your stats for you.

I started in Feb. 2006 (Or 2007), I remember being such a noob. Those old BGMs such as HHG1 and such. Now when I hear them, it brings back memories of a simpler time. BUT, now all I want to play MS for is bossing. Get to 14x and boss and boss and boss. That's the fun part. Plus, high damage IS fun. :3

Honestly, it's better now than before. More features, more everything. The meso-hungry people and damage hoes are the players not Nexon. And there's really nothing wrong with a company wanting to make money. But for some reason, when NEXON wants to make some, everyone freaks out like this is an unheard concept.
