Blocked account through IGN?

Well, before I start explaining what happened and what I'd like to know I want to say this doesn't have anything to do with the current craze of 'hackings' going on in Maplestory as of late. My boyfriend's account got hacked Saturday in the Midnight hours after getting into a verbal fight with a guildie. Thing is, is that the kid was whining to his buddy list about what had happened, and gave his IGN out to someone that asked for it (I assume). My boyfriend decides to log off and go to another character, just like myself, only to come back an hour later and find out that his Main Account was hacked. He didn't accept a random trade, or chat invite although he was in a chat with the kid he got in a fight with (perhaps he keylogged him?) Now my questions are these: Is it actually possible to gain access to an account without knowing any information? Is it possible to gain access to an account with a mere IGN? (IGN && account name is different) And lastly, we can't seem to 'find' the e-mail that was used to that account (unless the hacker hacked that too, or changed the e-mail) so don't say 'Have you tried resetting that password?' We even logged a ticket to Nexon but what they've said is 'Please use the account you're trying to verify the e-mail from. If you can't log in we apologize.' Well..Gee, it's HACKED. How can we go into it? So after all the real money that we all spend on Maplestory- whether it's iTCG or Nexon Points - they don't do anything about it in the slightest. They can easily get us the e-mail, we gave a bunch of accounts with corresponding e-mail addresses, no reason to not to.

Perhaps possible with IP tracking,etc,although that requires time & I'm unsure if it's even legal,hope that helped a bit T~T *Edit* IP tracking & googling for information regarding the IGN*

Wait... so the password has been changed? O.o I don't think that's possible. By the way, if the password has been changed, and you can't get into the account, then Nexon won't do a thing about it. I've tried...

I find it weird how it all happened.

lol. yea nexon wont do a thing about it since they dont even know the account. The best thing to do is try to make a new account. Find the dude and track him and them report him, even theough i think that wont work either...

One of his friends could have done it or something..Ugh..

thats akward, who would keep a friend that just hacked your boyfriend? Oh, and dont just asume it was the enemy, it may be someone else you dont know.

He got KEYLOGGED - through opening emails, links, or past events where the hacker has decided to wait. Note: The chances of someone randomly guessing your information is LOWER then winning the 6/49 lottery. If you have the slightest bit of knowledge - you will understand why.
