Can I run Crysis?

I'll be honest, that computer is crap for Crysis. Absolute pure pile of -insert preference of swear words- Firstly, it's a Quad core that has a 4MB cache. Most decent ones have around 8MB L2 cache. Furthermore, I don't see why'd you get a quad core to play a game. That's just plain stupid. You need a dual core(extreme). Seriuously, an E7500 would outpreform that CPU at Crysis. Why? Crysis doesn't utilize four cores. It uses 2, at max. So lets do some Maths. 2 x 2.33 = 4.66 or 2 x2.93 = 5.86. Secondly, dell computers have been known to have very bad cooling. They are loud things. With a quad core, you're gonna generate a lot of heat. Definately not a good outlook if you are planning to plan Crysis for 1+ hours. Next, the GPU and the RAM are both a bit slow. Half a gigbyte and 4GB look nice in numbers, but it's really th clockrate that makes the difference in if you lag or not. And they just don't really cut it. In the closing, don't buy it.

I payed 600$ for my computer, and can run Crysis on high, but Very high due to it's XP...

No. First off, the CPU clock speed does not work like that, you don't multiply them. Cores working together doesn't mean it's multiplied speed. Also, Crysis isn't multi-threaded at all (unless they changed that), so it would only use one core. The dual would be better, but not much. Now onto the RAM and graphics card. As far as RAM goes, the clockrate isn't going to make much of a noticeable difference gaming. 4GB is enough to run Crysis fine, and that's all the really matters. (also, that RAM is clocked at 1067MHz, which is fairly fast for RAM) As far as the graphics card goes, it sounds to me like you don't know your stuff. The VRAM (video RAM) on a graphics card doesn't really have as much to do with speed as people think. 512MB is decent, and the difference between 512MB and 1GB probably wouldn't be much, unless the TS is playing at very high resolutions. Clock speed also isn't very important when it comes to graphics cards. The difference between 776MHz and 885MHz on my 3870 was like 3 FPS in gaming, if even. The difference isn't really there. The 4850 is a great card. I'd say with that, he can run Crysis on high, or very high. Probably very high with a kinda low frame rate. I know with my 3870 I can run high with a decent frame rate. As far as cooling goes, I doubt the computer would get too hot at full load for an hour. It would probably be good for like 4-5 hours no problem, assuming he doesn't have a lot of dust buildup. Also, I've never heard dell even has bad cooling. @TS: You can play Crysis on that computer. High settings, or Very-High settings would work, although Very High might be slow. That being said, Crysis isn't that fun, and is only hard to play due to it's bad design.
