This thread is for users to discuss the current "hacking craze" that is apparently going on. You are encouraged to provide evidence to support your claims. Note: Any other thread(s) on this topic may be deleted/locked because there has been too much spam in the General MS forum on this topic lately. Threads created before this one will simply be locked/deleted. Threads created after this one may receive posting suspensions starting at 3 days. Information • Users in various worlds have stripped their character(s) of their equips. This can be seen through the rankings. • Certain users have removed their items from MTS. • The above two points suggest that the hack may exist. However, some users believe that these actions are simply fake (perhaps the original owner(s) of the account(s) simply played along with the chaos) and were only done to fuel the chaos involved in this situation. • Various testimonies have been given from users who say that they were "hacked." -They state that the hack can be used on users on the same screen as the hacker. Apparently, it allows the hacker to access your character, but in most cases, not your account or your account info. • None of the testimonies regarding the hack provide any screenshot proof of the hack actually being real. • A user impersonates a GM and states that a rollback will take place. screenshot from thread • Strong evidence shows that the above user is not a GM. thread This means that a rollback has not been suggested by Nexon as of yet.

Well, after everything I've found out, I think I know the story for Bera (other worlds also, if applicable). Earlier yesterday, a player was using super megaphones. This player bragged about his NX and his Mesos. He first acquired the Ludi donation king title. Then, he claimed to buy out FM shops and drop the items. I went to the FM entrance he was dropping in. I lagged out due to how many people were there (didn't get hacked or get any items), but search for a thread called "The Story Behind the Dark Arts Hacking." The info from that thread would seem to fit perfectly with the situation. The summary: people that picked up the items that the smegaer dropped got hacked. I know that Berans can confirm the part about a smegaer doing this an hour or two before the hacking, and it might have also happened in the other worlds... like Windia.

So there has been no confirmation that Nexon will do anything about this? Also people posting things in Nexon's Forums are just being deleted. I belive this is also a fail on Nexons part GG -.-

All the players items are stored in the database itself, theres no way one could use them as a hack tool.

See you can't find nothing incorrect with my last statement so you bring up old statements which I will be glad to answer. Before all these packet sniffing software and stuff you had to go to the source of the packets, Example: Companies HQ etc, and find where the packets you want are traveling then you have to decrypt them and since there already is a code on decrypting nexons packets it should not be that hard. Of course you never learn.

This is like some bad game of telephone. People with no real idea or proof it's true say something and believers on Basil see it and pass it on. It's gone from map d/c to chat invite hacking to trading & d/c and hack you. Then someone claims someone else was hacked but obviously they weren't.

Well, right now, that is the most plausible and realistic explanation that I've found. Plus, I haven't seen anyone else say that it wasn't possible. The thread that talks about the hack I was thinking of (stated above) pretty much seems like what is going on. It explains why that guy was buying and dropping stuff in the FM (knowing people would chase and loot them) and it also explains how people that were with HeroTex saw him get hacked then and there. Plus, if you read the thread, then you would see that it is referring to packet editing, which is possible. And, no one else has provided any other solution that makes sense.

There is officially set in stone proof that people were hacked by D/C in FM rooms. Herotex was one of them. As for remote hacking, I'm not sure if i believe it.

All you got to do to packet edit is capture packets than resend them after you make subtle changes. Stop speaking out of your butt.
