"The microtransaction-based Free Realms recruited 3 million users less than seven weeks after its launch, inviting players to its casual family-friendly world to buy accessories for their postmen and chef characters. However, its revenue has yet to match World of Warcraft's, which had over 11 million subscriptions by October 2008. Despite its extraordinary commercial success with a traditional subscription model, WOW lead designer Tom Chilton said the dominant MMORPG could go free-to-play in the future. How much for the Sword of a Thousand Truths? Multiply the cost of one truth by 1,000. In an interview with VideoGamer, Chilton said, "I certainly think it's possible that we could do some kind of microtransaction stuff. Whether or not World of Warcraft ever goes the direction of, I guess like Anarchy Online has gone the direction of going free-to-play with microtransactions. Whether we ever shift to a free-to-play model is really too hard to say at this point." If the game adopts a free-to-play model in the future, it won't be the first premium MMORPG to switch to a microtransaction-based revenue stream. I'm not into games like WoW. I got bored of Guild wars after a week, i'm guessing the game will get boring after a duration of time.

I haven't played WoW, and the graphics don't look uber amazing; but I do however like the idea of using quests to level up. I also think they have some pretty cool skills. Hmm like Wind Walker Clones from the Orc Hero in Warcraft III. That was pretty cool, oh and the little bugs you get from the Undead Hero. I mean turning dead bodies into little bugs is cool. OMG the Night Elves have that Shadow Doppleganger thing. Yep, pretty cool.

WoW is too dam complicated. I'd rather play Maple where I use the arrow keys and the shift key.

It's not really complicated.. you set your scales on your number keys, asdw to move you can adjust almost everything to your desire. Don't like the interface? You can change it to how it fits your needs.

I'd play but probably not get addicted. If I didn't get addicted when I payed for it, I wouldn't get addicted to it even if it was free. I'd rather play a different game than WoW

They'd better not, F2P is why Maple's community is so terrible, at least while it costs to pay, a lot of those types of people aren't going to be able to pay per month. And while I hate to say it (as a lot of the people that drove me from Maple were the younger players), there are much fewer pre-teens and early teens on the game due to not having any income and parents not willing to pay monthly for a game, and this keeps the community tolerant. Of course there are d'bags on WoW as well, but the amount of them is countless times less than most F2P games, and those come more in the "Elitist, cookie-cutter build" types, and not in the "ur a feg and i did ur mom last nite" types.
