Why I always solo.

So, except for here lately, i've been a hermit (no pun intended) in the Maple world. I shy away from PQs, i'll train in mini dungeons as often as i can, and I always leave a map that someone else got to first. The bulk of my friends on maple are real life friends i've dragged along, and I always turn down guild requests. Why? Because Scania's full of rude people and guilds create mob mentalities. Don't get me wrong, i've met some of the sweetest, funniest people on maple, and I've seen a lot of respectable guilds, but it always seems to me i get the short end of the stick. Take this morning, for example. I got bored with my crappy training spots and decided to finally do something worth a challenge to me: Windraiders. So, i tab open a jump quest guide, and 4 hits of 50k tumbling pillar of doom later, i make it into the clearing, and luckily the channel I am on is a free map. I train for a while, really excited about the great exp. Then, I accidentally fall off of the page. Whilst making my way back, a higher level hermit cuts me off and gets there first. Whatever, I decide to cc because i don't want to try explaining to him that i was there first because he had already been giving me attitude. Then, i find a new empty channel and train. I'm there half an hour, and a new person shows up (i see the red dot by map entrance). She tells me to cc. I tell her to. She says she was there first, which i call shenanigans on, for the previously mentioned reasons. She doesn't budge. Then, oh looky, a guildie mate comes to her rescue to collaborate her bs story. Then they both demand fame and 1mil mesos. I tell them to screw off. They defame me and leave. Why can't anyone ever be decent in Scania? I play by the rules, and i get screwed. People guild "gang bang" and giggle about it and ks and become "pro". I'm usually not a whiner, but it just gets frustrating sometimes, especially when I'm trying hard to convince myself otherwise. any thoughts? similar grievances? INB4: TOO LONG DURRRRR :f

You'll be lucky to find the nice Scanians The non-ccers get on my nerves, especially when theyre a higher level and try to ks you. So I just cc in the end because Scania is full of stubborn losers

Playing in the populated servers is tough, even for the good and bad guys. If you really don't want to deal with trouble, it's best just to leave and move on. I've been playing Maple since August 2005, not Beta like the rest of basilmarket, and if it's one thing I've learned, not just from MS but also real life, it's that starting trouble even if it is clearly the other person's fault, just is not worth it. You wind up getting frustrated, angry and upset over the stupidity of others. Best advice I can give you unless you would rather a less populated server such as Bellocan-Demethos (worlds in between). Supposedly, the newer worlds have a much more positive attitude to people who just want to have fun.. Happy 5:17 EST AM ! x]]]

See, all people who play online games are controlling their characters behind their computer screens. They feel they are safe whatever they do on online games. So a lot of people let out their true personalities on online games. They have nothing to lose. Unfortunately there are lots of people on Maple like the ones you just met and there is nothing that can be done. This, is considered normal. No offense, but you're a little too "idealistic" (cant find the right word). It's ok if you dont join guilds, etc, but don't expect Maple to be an utopia. The standards in real life and on an online game are different. If you fight back, mass defame back, ks etc. you're considered a normal maple player. So my suggestion, change your expectations and also change your own rules. You will enjoy maple more as a normal player.

Happy 5:17 EST AM ! x]]]" I agree with everything you've said, and I usually just cc and leave it be, but I just couldn't do it this time. perhaps it was all the work I had put into getting there, or the fact that she blatantly lied to me. i don't know. I usually don't get too frustrated but I just wasn't in the mood today. I started in may 2005 and loved in back when everyone had no clue and just helped each other out. Those were the days. And I feel ya, it's 5:30am and im dying @.@ east coast for life! EDIT: Whoops, i meant 2005, not 2004. it's so early here.

I realize my expectations are ridiculous in terms of maple story, and the internet in general. it's just that it's hard for me to do the same things to people, be they considered normal or not, because I don't want to end up negatively effecting someone like myself later on, yknow? I don't wish for maple to be a utopia, i just miss the less-risk multiplaying i used to see when I first started.

Hey, I totally agree with you. Some members of PQ are complete ****** or noobs, some have no idea but there's something called bEING POLITE. Those kind of guilds just piss me off, honestly that's not what guilds are for. The exclusive 150+ guilds are also annoying.. that's why I'm also guildless .

you should have joined Khaini Khaini has some nice people and if you ask them to cc nicely in khaini most likely they will, unless they are the mean type OR if it's a big map like the lower ascent then they will ask if you want to share. Please say yes cause it makes it alot easier to handle and monster spawn increases
