I'm new at this whole "sin" business. Yes, I've been reading guides about dexless vs reg vs normal dex, and as much as I want to go dexless or even low dex, I just DON'T have the time or money to do so. I was hoping to go low dex and leave dex at 70, but even then i'd need to get a zhelm, luk top, dex bot, a deputy star, etc. While I could eventually get the mesos to do that, I'd be stuck with a 30 atk dayo for awhile. My friends said that I'll be ok with reg. dex at 4th job, but I'm just not totally convinced. I guess, like most people, I want to have a dexless sin with great equips. Realism has hit me in the face. Any advice, or help, tips or even some thoughts? If I leave dex at around 80 or 90 or 100, will I be ok? It's so much but once again, realism is key here. I really have no idea when I'd be able to get a zhelm anyway. Thanks. I don't know why I have such a problem considering this is just a game.

Capping it depends on what weapon you want to hold. If you know that, that way you won't add too much base dex. If you wanted a rab then: 70base + 15helm + 5dex dep star = you have 100 dex total. Leaving 10 more dex from your top/bottom/overall.

I have my dex capped at 116, and I have enough in equips for a Dragon Sleve. 116+5 Dex Pendant+4 Dex Shoes+ 4 dex cape (fail. xD)+15 Dex Z-Helm+7 dex overall=150 Dex for a sleve. :D But I"m fairly high dex, maybe even enough to be called a reg dex.

Actually, dexless is much cheaper. You leave your dex at 25, and you're free to upgrade your maple claw/kandayo/skanda as well as the rest of your equips anytime you want. With equal funding, you'll still be stronger than lowdex until about level 150, and you'll always be better than regular dex. Since dexless claws have no dex requirement, you'll be able to upgrade yourself at any pace you desire and thus there's no need for funding. Lowdex requires a much higher amount of funding to start up, and requires a huge amount of money to maintain and keep at the top. It's not worth it for the casual player.

Regdex will outdamage dexless at some point, and the highest lvl claw an unfunded dexless sin can wear is lvl64 becouse higher lvl dexless claws are rare and therefor expensive. And I'm a 80base dex hermit that started unfunded and I have enought dex to wear a casters and I can easely upgrade my dex to enought for a craven. But it took me a while to get at the point im at now, so if you don't want to spent much time I suggest you would go dexless becouse you wont get at a high lvl anyways.

jxtRegular Dex will never out damage Dexless, unless you're trying to compare a very well funded regular Dex and a very low funded Dexless. Assuming both characters are the same level and that the regular Dex Assassin has 150 Dex (Dragon Sleeve.), even if there is a 20 (70>50) weapon attack difference in claws the Dexless will still outdamage the regular build. The Dexless has 125 more Luk than the regular Dex, which equals roughly 25 weapon attack. This is very much in favor of the regular build, as most people don't have 70 attack claws and a 50 attack Dexless claw isn't very impressive anymore. What you're talking about (your build.) is low Dex, and even at that until you get to very high levels it still takes a lot of funding for low Dex to outdamage Dexless. Most Dexless characters would still outdamage you, given similar funding, until you begin to reach a much higher level. These days it's even easier for a well funded Dexless to make up weapon attack with weapon attack gear that typically low Dex can't use because then they'd be sacrificing the Dex they need to equip their claws. Most people, people who plan out their build, will go Dexless, convert to low Dex, and then convert to a higher base Dex, mixing Dex, Luk, and weapon attack gear to get the most out of their attack range.
