i have like 4000 maple leaves left over from the anniversary. is there anything i can do with them?

Save them. I saved like 600 leaves from the event last year and I didn't regret it.

Save them for next year. NPC gives you 4k right now. Save until next year and you could turn that into 4m or 40m.
