Well I always wanted a guitar. So I thought I will try and buy one! However I have no money. ): So I thought I will go cheap, and buy one on ebay. Wooo. Here's a picture http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/olivetree09/EG-tr.jpg It's only $100 for all that. I already know it's gonna be a really bad guitar though. :D However for right now. I'm using my friends Gibson Les Paul. However I don't have $1300 to buy one. So what do you think? EDIT****** I'm not new to guitar playing. I just never owned my own. So I basically used my friends guitars all the time.

I suggest buying an acoustic guitar. It's different from an electric but more satisfying I'd say, especially since you don't need an amp.

Personally, if it works, just use it. Don't know how you're going to come up with $1300 so...yeah.

Judging by the amp it has built in effects (or just distortion) so you can make any guitar sound decent. And because you have a friend that plays you'll always have someone to jam with and not lose interrest. Go for it. You could also try pawnshops. I saw a peavy strat for $99 And to add the the horse guy's comment what kind of music do you plan on playing? V Well have fun getting used to steel strings on a cramped fret board.

If its your starting guitar, I'd recommend getting an acoustic. Try the Yamahas, you can get good ones for under $200. If you really want an electric, I'd recommend a Stratocaster, the one that everyone has. It's cheap, and pretty versatile.

You mean your new to guitar playing? I'd recommend an acoustic guitar first. A lot of people use it when they are new and then they advance on to an electric guitar GL.

Only one hundred for the guitar? Or is the whole set? I've tried acoustic and electric guitar, acoustic sounded better to me, but it was harder to play (for me) Electric is fun, has a lot of fingering skills and stuff. Just to let you know :D
