My i/l character is currently lvl 48 and it has maxed lightning and meditation, with 1 point into teleport and 3 into MP Eater. So I was wondering is it necessary to put points into Cold Beam? I mean I don't think that I am going to use it because I rather train with lightning because its faster training. I rather max Slow AND MP Eater. Is it a good idea or not?

slow is useles i have never heard of anyone not maxing cold beam. max everything except slow

Cold Beam is pretty useful becuase of freezing and single targets. You might not use it much for training now, but it's definately useful later on slow IS useful! useful AND fun! you will not max slow now, but you'll max it during 3rd job. Slow is amazing for bossing, CWKPQers love it. It's also good for HH and BF. you won't use slow any time soon, but it's definately a luxury to max later on in 3rd job MP eater I also maxed You'd probably max MP eater in 2nd job, and you will still be able to get slow but later on in your career

The only real con that I see is having to still use Magic Claw, but I got a priest, so I am used to magic claw already x]

Well, it's up to you. That is a pretty good build. Sacrificing cold beam for slow. Now I think about it...I mostly used lightning and magic claw as my main attacks in second job. But then, Cold Beam is good against single target monsters and for finishing off the kill (like at Red Kents or somewhere else). It's up to you :3. Also, MP Eater should be maxed. Blizzard DEVOURS your mana quickly in the beginning of 4th job as you'll probably won't have that much mana especially with elemental amplification @_@;. It's all up to you. Goodluck :3

Goodluck :3" You make it sound like MP eater will actually gain back the mp from casting a blizzard. That is not true. The only monster I can possibly think of that this will work on is firebrands because their second form has 10k mp. Other than that, MP eater will only give you back a couple hundred mp for each cast of blizzard. 7k mp to cast blizzard minus the couple hundred mp from MP eater means I will still have to use potions after I blizz.

Not max cold beam? There are many disadvantages to not maxing cold beam. You will be stuck with magic claw, which is not only 80 basic attack, but the enemy's defense is applied twice to the attack. When I was at lower levels, I hit dual 400 to a this certain enemy with claw and 1600+ with cold beam. Max MP eater during these levels, as certain training spots in third job (firebrands) have so much MP, you'll never use a single MP pot. Max slow later on in 3rd job
